Last fall, we faced a potentially devastating loss of federal food assistance in our communities, our state and our nation. When SNAP benefits evaporated almost overnight, United Way of Kaw Valley and LiveWell Shawnee County used lessons about capacity, partnership and communication learned during and after the pandemic to rapidly rally partners to keep our neighbors fed.

Our Community Resource Navigation team member are making connections in their communities and continuing their training as Community Health Workers. And soon it will be easier than ever to connect with their services.

Our staff and volunteers wore their Valentines hearts on their sleeves and set out to spread some sweet Small Business joy!

Thanks to the amazing team at Kansas Action for Children, United Way of Kaw Valley is helping all Kansas United Ways stay on top of fast-moving legistlation that affects our neighbors who are Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained and Employed, or ALICE.
