No, it's not time yet for the first-ever Topeka Volunteers event (happening all day on April 14 at Fairlawn Plaza). But we know you like to plan, so here's a To-Do List to help you pass the time!
1. Get your free account NOW on TopekaVolunteers.org. There might be good reasons to have this step accomplished before April 14. Just sayin’.
2. Start warming up your volunteer muscles—you don’t want to sprain something on the big day! Maybe take some practice laps around Fairlawn Plaza.
3. Do you belong to an organization that uses volunteers? Make sure they are registered and adding their opportunities to TopekaVolunteers.org! We expect lots of people to register over the next few months, and you want some of them to volunteer for you!
4. Test drive some of the hundreds of parking spaces at Fairlawn Plaza and find your favorite route to the door in case of April showers.
5. Plan to multi-task! There are so many great merchants at Fairlawn Plaza that you could make a day of it! Try some yoga or some Jazzercise. Have breakfast, lunch AND dinner at different eateries (plus a coffee break)! You could shop for graduation, birthdays, anniversaries or just pick up something for yourself.
Whatever you do, add April 14 to your calendar right now. If you are a Facebooker, RSVP to the event to make sure you get all the notifications and reminders (and invite your friends).
