Women United pledges $5K match to COVID-19 relief fund
For more than a decade, UWGT’s Women United affinity group has been helping women and their families in times of crisis. Best known for their emergency mini-grants, Women United is now stepping forward to match the first $5,000 in donations made to UWGT’s COVID-19 Relief Fund. The Relief Fund will support local agencies as they adjust to increased community demand as a result of the pandemic.
Women United steering committee member Marsha Sheahan said, “Women United has a long tradition of helping women and their children with emergencies, paving the way for sustaining their families. The United Way’s COVID-19 Relief Fund certainly meets qualifications for our funds and I’m glad Women United can participate in helping Topeka area families in crisis during this national pandemic.”
