Each fall, we recruit 10-12 highly motivated and passionate volunteers to serve as United Way Campaign Ambassadors, and this year that could be YOU! These volunteers are a critical resource during campaign season—their duties include everything from representing United Way at campaign events to distributing pledge forms and other supplies to companies throughout Shawnee County, and helping companies brainstorm new and innovative ideas for their campaigns.
Campaign Ambassadors receive extensive training to prepare them for their duties. Many companies regularly comment that Campaign Ambassadors return to their companies after their service more confident, and with a wide-range of new skills, including public speaking, time-management, and organization. Ambassadors will be critical this year to helping companies adapt their United Way tradition of giving to the COVID-19 landscape.
If serving as a Campaign Ambassador sounds like the role for you, or if your company is interested in loaning an ambassador, contact Angel Romero, Vice President of Resource Development at aromero@unitedwaytopeka.org, to learn more.
