We are excited to announce that Nancy Perry Day of Caring 2020 is a go! We will be making some changes to keep volunteers and agency staff healthy and and piloting some new virtual volunteering opportunities that will provide even more help to nonprofits struggling with the effects of COVID-19.
Nancy Perry Day of Caring is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2020. Sadly, we won't get to have our traditional big breakfast event, but we will get together virtually to kick off our day. You'll be able to tune in online whether you are volunteering that day or not. This year, we are hoping to offer four kinds of opportunities for our corporate and individual volunteers:
Last year 1,165 of you worked on 71 projects for 33 agencies. This translated to 6,456 hours of service worth $164,176. Our local nonprofit sector needs that kind of help even more this year. We are brainstorming with partners all across town thinking about new ways you can help virtually or safely in person. At the same time, we are connecting with corporate partners to see how they envision their employees giving the gift of time this year.
We are grateful to know that several of our corporate partners believe this is a critical community event and believe in its power to unite us in this stressful time. Thank you to the sponsors who have already signed on in support of Nancy Perry Day of Caring 2020:
More sponsorship opportunities are available. Contact Jess Barraclough at jnb@unitedwaytopeka.org for more information. Sponsorship at certain levels includes an early window to select projects for your employees before opportunities are made public.
