Now that UWGT impact grants are in the final year of a 9-year cycle, our staff and volunteers are planning the next evolution of our work in the community. The first step was to put words to our hopes for a better community, an aspirational statement that will guide and focus our work as we recover, reimagine and rebuild in the wake of COVID-19.
The new aspirational statement starts with "Until the Fight Is Won." That's how long UWGT intends to fight for the education, financial stability and health of every person in our community. Until the fight is won.
As we envision United Way's place in and contributions to our community, we needed words that reflected the core of our mission--the unique elements that United Way brings to the nonprofit table. Things like collaboration, convening, and reaching across traditional boundaries to help all nonprofits serve our neighbors in need more effectively.
Until the Fight Is Won.
Cultivating and creating and unbreakable network of support for a strong, healthy and equitable community.
It's just 20 words, and it's just the beginning. Stay tuned.
