Supporting Black-owned businesses creates opportunities for savings and building of generational wealth, in addition to stimulating our overall local economy. The median wealth for white families in America is about 12 times that for Black families. The Economic Policy Institute reports that one in four Black households have zero or negative net wealth, compared to less than one in ten white families.
