Nominate and Celebrate! (And Save the Date)

On Thursday, July 8, join us and our host Melissa Brunner from WIBW as we celebrate and recognize the organizations and individuals who have gone above and beyond with their United Way workplace campaigns in one of the most challenging years ever! Check out our Facebook event to get the latest information.
We will also reveal the total raised through our 2020-2021 campaign, and talk about the impact YOU have made in our community!
Nominations are now OPEN to nominate deserving companies (large and small) and individuals. Click here to nominate: https://forms.gle/eG7ig8yx7EHxecQ76. Nominations are due Friday, June 4. See the award descriptions and last year's winners below.

Note: A company cannot be recognized for the same award two years in a row, with the exception of the ABC award.

“You Did WHAT?!” Award

Who has the most amazing, impactful or unique special event as part of their workplace campaign? Did you make your CEO spend a morning on the roof or kiss a pig or a frog when you reached your company goal? This award recognizes fun and creative events that motivate employee participation and giving.

2020 Winner: Capitol Federal

Momentum Award

Did you race past last year’s campaign total or set a record for participation? This award recognizes outstanding campaign growth, either in dollars or in percent participation. Moving the needle on either of those metrics is tough, and you deserve to be celebrated when you make it happen!

2020 Winner: Goodyear

ABC (Anything But COVID) Award
(a pandemic twist on last year’s Anything But Chili award)

Just like we adapted the name of this award this year, we know many companies had to shift gears in the wake of COVID-19 to come up with new and fun events that can take place in the digital world. Maybe you came up with a way to utilize Zoom or Microsoft teams to conduct events? Maybe you incorporated your employee’s work-from-home set-ups into your campaign? This award recognizes the company with the most innovative approach to conducting their campaign in the virtual workplace.

2020 Winners: Premier Employment Solutions & Key Staffing; Security Benefit

People’s Choice Award

This award will be chosen by guests at the Celebrate United event and was created to recognize a company whose leaders provide extraordinary support for their workplace campaign. Our strongest campaigns have buy-in and support from their CEO and other top leadership. This award recognizes that high level of commitment.

2020 Winners: Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas; Fidelity State Bank & Trust

“Hand-Raiser” Award—NEW INDIVIDUAL AWARD

Do you have an employee who tirelessly goes above and beyond to make your United Way campaign happen each year? This award recognizes an outstanding individual (be they a Campaign Coordinator, Campaign Committee member, or other member of your team) without whom your campaign just wouldn’t happen.
