We love to see good news from our impact partners. This month YWCA of Northeast Kansas posted some smiling faces of students who attended this year's YWCA "Power UP" Summer Program for rising kindergarteners (KAPP). The 2021 program ended last week, but the academic skills, socioemotional skills, and confidence built throughout the summer will follow these kiddos into kindergarten and beyond. The KAPP program is designed specifically for incoming Topeka Public Schools kindergartners who have little or no preschool experience. KAPP's caring staff help them understand what school will be like so they can be ready to participate and learn from the very first day.
