Christmas Bureau/Giving Tuesday
We knew you were good, but we didn’t count on getting to increase our Giving Tuesday adopter goal just a week into November!
We originally set a goal of having 800 families adopted by Giving Tuesday this year. We based that estimate on the number of people who applied during our first three days of intake. However, more people than we anticipated signed up on the final two days, and we ended up accepting more than 1,000 households.
The good news is adoptions are also running ahead of projections, and just a week in you had pledged to help more than 700 households! That generosity allowed us to put out a stretch goal to get 1,000 households adopted by Giving Tuesday, and we are already closing in on that as well. Well done!
It truly feels like the community was ready to get back to some hands-on volunteering again this holiday season, and we know the families you are helping will appreciate the extra effort you make in buying and delivering gifts and supplies for a holiday meal.
Stay tuned because we always run into some unexpected last-minute needs, and we may need some shopping and delivery elves. And don't forget that you can always make a donation that helps us make sure that everyone who applies has a brighter holiday season.
