You may already have heard that we announced that we are in the final approval stages of a merger with our neighbor to the east, United Way of Douglas County! While we have some logistics left to sort, we couldn't be more excited for this partnership. You won't notice much this calendar year as we merge our back office operations. Current grants will continue, and each organization will run Fall workplace campaigns under their existing identity.

Both organizations agree that donations generously given in one county stay with that county unless an individual donor specifies otherwise. This is already the model we use for Jackson County. Donors will always have a choice. Maintaining local control of initiatives and impact choices also leaves that prioritizing and decision-making in the hands of the volunteers who know their community best.

The biggest change will come in early 2023 when we rebrand our merged organization as United Way of Kaw Valley!

For more detailed information read the press release and watch the video of the merger announcement press conference on our website.
