Merger Moving Ahead

In merger news this past month, both organizations have formally approved the merger agreements. The next step will be to file the merger paperwork with the Secretary of State's office. As a reminder, both UWGT and UWDC will operate under their existing names through at least the end of the calendar year.

What comes next?

Staff and board volunteers are preparing to merge financial operations as the first major task of the merger. Staff are also outlining milestones and timelines for all other aspects of the new merged organization, including communications, resource development, volunteer engagement, and technology. We are looking forward to more opportunities to collaborate and get to know each other as the merger officially takes place.

You'll start to see more information about Douglas County programs and events on the UWGT social media channels and in this newsletter. Eventually we will consolidate our social media channels, but in the meantime, we encourage you to like/follow both organizations and share the good things happening across our four-county service area.
