Christmas Bureau 2022
The Christmas Bureau is an annual tradition that allows everyone in our community to make the holiday season brighter for our Shawnee County neighbors in need. United Way and other community partners connect thousands of individuals and families to a holiday meal and gifts by matching them with agencies or community “adopters.”

2022 Application/Intake
We will have one intake site this year at Johnston Community Center in the Echo Ridge neighborhood near SE 21st and California. Income documentation is required and at least one member of the household must apply in person.
There will be four days to sign up:
- Wednesday, October 26, 10 am to 7 pm
- Tuesday, November 1, 10 am to 7 pm
- Thursday, November 3, 10 am to 7 pm
- Saturday, November 5, 10 am to 2 pm (please note the earlier end time)
An information flyer and application forms can be printed from our website. At least one member of the household must apply in person and bring the necessary documents.
2022 Intake Volunteer Opportunities
There are a limited number of volunteer shifts remaining. Those opportunities include:
- October 26th – General Intake Specialist from 4-7PM
- November 1st – Greeter from 2-7PM (shift can be split)
- November 3rd – Spanish Intake Specialist from 4-7PM
- November 3rd- Greeter from 2-4PM

2022 Adopters
As we finish accepting applications, we will open an opportunity for families, individuals, and other groups to adopt and provide gifts and a holiday meal.
