Board Leadership Training
Congratulations to the participants who successfully completed our 9-hour introduction to Board Leadership Training! As part of our mission to expand nonprofit capacity, UWKV trains interested community members to be successful nonprofit board members. Participants learn about the duties and responsibilities of being a board volunteer and hear directly from nonprofit partners and current board volunteers about the challenges and rewards of board service. Currently the class is offered once in the winter and once in the summer, and we hope to add advanced topics for those interested in a deeper dive.
This January's class had representatives from local businesses, associations, education and nonprofits.About half are already serving on nonprofit boards, while the rest are looking for their first opportunity. Congratulations to all!
