Nominate a Volunteer for the Ad Astra Honors

One of our favorite new traditions during Nancy Perry Day of Caring is the presentation of our Ad Astra Volunteer Honors. But we need someone to honor! Help us find the best of the best by nominating your favorite volunteer in the youth (21 and younger) or professional (22 and older) categories. To be considered for these awards, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Create or support a program that created long lasting impact in Jackson, Jefferson, Douglas or Shawnee counties.
• Completed over 25 verified hours of service (From August 2021 – August 2022) in one of the impact areas below:
  • Education
  • Health
  • Financial Stability
  • Basic Needs
• Must live, work or learn in one of the counties that we serve (Jackson, Jefferson, Douglas & Shawnee Counties)

We also will present the Marge Heeney Award for United Way internal volunteer service. Those honorees are nominated by staff and other internal volunteers. Those previous honorees are Jim Daniel, Joe Beasley and Marlou Wegener.

Initial nominations are due August 15th. Nominees will be asked to provide additional information.
