Your One-Stop Volunteer Shop Has a New Name
Our engagement team has been hard at work behind the scenes for several months now to bring you an even bigger online volunteer experience. Earlier this month, we successfully merged TopekaVolunteers.org and VolunteerDouglasCounty.org into a single digital platform called KawValleyVolunteers.org! It's the same underlying platform--Galaxy Digital--but you may notice some sections or buttons have moved or changed.
What Volunteers Can Expect
- Your experience on the site should feel pretty much the same. You can still browse and search all our agencies and opportunities (only now there are even more of them!) and fan/follow your favorites for notifications of new opportunities. We tried to preserve the data of all active system users during the merger, but if you experience a problem, just let us know. All the great tracking features of both sites are still available, including the automatic generation of your custom volunteer resume, complete with your personal economic impact total.
- No cost, and no ads. As always, United Way of Kaw Valley offers this digital resource FREE to volunteers and to nonprofits and service groups. We pay for the annual subscription through donations, sponsorships and grant money. Unlike Signup Genius, KawValleyVolunteers.org is advertising free, and United Way of Kaw Valley will never share or sell your account information.
- Combined coverage for Shawnee and Douglas counties. Now all our opportunities are on one site with one login. We also have plans to identify new agency partners and opportunities in Jackson and Jefferson counties soon!
- Almost 300 current in-person and virtual volunteer opportunities offered by 285 agencies and service groups.
