Hangout at the Hangar Kicks Off Douglas County Campaign

Thank you to everyone who came out to our 2nd Annual “Hangout at the Hangar” Campaign Kick-Off and Fundraiser at Lawrence Regional Airport on September 9!
All attendees (“passengers”) got to enjoy delicious drinks and eats courtesy of Maceli’s, while taking in aircraft displays. Our aircraft on display included a historic DC-3, courtesy of Vaerus Aviation. Guests even got into the tropical theme- sporting their best tropical attire! Guests had the chance to learn what their dollars have made possible over the last year, and what can be possible when we reach out $600,000 campaign goal in Douglas County this year.
We introduced our 2025–26 Douglas County Campaign Chair Derek Kwan, Executive Director of the Lied Center of Kansas. Derek shared his passion for United Way with guests and talked about how the mission of the Lied Center and United Way come together.
