For many families in Shawnee County, the holiday season brings more stress than celebration. Rising costs for food, utilities, and basic needs can make it difficult to provide a special meal or gifts for loved ones. That’s where United Way of Kaw Valley’s Christmas Bureau steps in — connecting neighbors who need a little extra help with those who can share the joy of the holiday season.
Every year, hundreds of individuals and families turn to the Christmas Bureau for holiday assistance. Through the generosity of donors and volunteers, Christmas Bureau families receive food for a holiday meal and gifts for each family member. More than that, they get a powerful reminder that they are not forgotten.
The Christmas Bureau matches local families in need with community donors — individuals, families, organizations, or businesses — who “adopt” them for the holidays. Donors shop for age-appropriate gifts and food, or make financial contributions that allow United Way to fill in the gaps where needed most.
Your investment is needed to ensure that no family is left behind this holiday season!
Our goal this year is to raise $60,000 by Giving Tuesday on November 25, to ensure that every Christmas Bureau family receives assistance this holiday season. You can make your gift online here: https://unite.uwkawvalley.org/CB
Last year, you came together to ensure every family could celebrate the holidays with dignity and joy. With your help, we can do it again this year. If your company would like to make a gift to support the Christmas Bureau, please contact Angel Romero at aromero@uwkawvalley.org or by calling 785-228-5128.
