The preliminary impact numbers for the 2026 Nancy Perry Days of Caring are inspiring!

- 22 agencies
- 2,540 hours completed
- Estimated economic impact across 3 counties = $81,838.80 (Using the Independent Sector value of a volunteer hour in Kansas in 2025 = $32.22.)
We also had the honor of presenting the Shawnee County Ad Astra Volunteer Honors to three deserving recipients. They are:
- Jali Kennedy- Washburn University (Youth award), nominated by Jenny Lieurance
- Andrea Okruhlik- USD 437 (Professional), nominated by Felicia Pierce
- Mikayla Hermesch- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, Marge Heeney Internal Volunteer of the Year, nominated by Judy Riling
The Douglas County Ad Astra Honors Galluzzi Award will be presented later this fall at a Douglas County event.
