My name is Jessica Neumann Barraclough and I am the new Director of Volunteer Engagement. Originally from Wisconsin, I traveled to Topeka, KS, after the completion of my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from North Dakota State University. I have lived and served in Topeka for over 12 years, most recently at Washburn University.
I look forward to the opportunity to make a strategic impact for our community and in Northeast Kansas through volunteer development and education. I am excited to continue growing the excellent program of volunteer engagement that has been established at United Way of Greater Topeka. In partnership with the Volunteer Engagement committee, we are preparing to begin developing a strategic volunteer engagement plan, which will include the events that our community has long embraced, like Nancy Perry Day of Caring, and new opportunities like our upcoming Topeka Volunteers event. Topeka Volunteers will be an excellent opportunity for agencies in the community to highlight how they serve our community and how you as a volunteer can serve them and their stakeholders. Our inaugural Topeka Volunteers event happens from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm on April 14, 2020, at Fairlawn Plaza. We will be announcing more about the event in next month's newsletter.
As we move forward, we are excited to establish stronger relationships with our corporate partners in providing training and development for volunteering, high impact practices and leadership development. As we continue to leverage our strengths in the community, I am excited to leave a positive impact on our community through those who serve. Please don't hesitate to call or email me to talk about any aspect of volunteering! My email is JNB@unitedwaytopeka.org.
