- A new software option for MyFreeTaxes users who want to self-prepare their tax returns. This software supports more forms and has no income limit, age restriction, or geographic limitation. It includes a federal return and unlimited state returns. And it is 100% free, with no requirement to pay for certain forms or services.
- A new Tax Time Financial Checklist that connects you to important financial products and services, including accessible and affordable bank accounts, and a free student debt platform that can help you resolve student debt challenges and adjust your payment plans to save money.
- Live help has returned! Get help from an IRS-certified call specialist via the MyFreeTaxes Helpline. The Helpline is open from 10 am-10 pm ET daily to answer your tax and software questions.
Shawnee County residents who already know that they qualify for and want to use local VITA services should visit the VITA website or call a VITA volunteer at 785-213-9002. Please leave a message if your call is not answered and someone will get back with you.
VITA returns for Jackson County residents are managed by the Northeast Kansas Area Agency on Aging. Call (785) 742-7152. Appointments are limited.
