As we plan for the next generation of our impact work, we’re also taking time to celebrate what you have made possible over the last 10 years!
Because of you, we’ve been able to invest more than $18 million in 43 partner agencies over the past 10 years! Those dollars were further leveraged by our partners and laid the ground for dynamic collaborations that are addressing our communities’ biggest challenges. We'll be sharing more in-depth results with you as we prepare to announce updated goals and strategies this summer in preparation for a new round of impact investment.
Of that $18 million, United Way of Greater Topeka invested nearly $4.5 million in early education.
Over the past 10 years we partnered with nine different agencies to invest in a wide range of high-impact interventions, ranging from home visitation and parent education to intensive high-quality preschool education. As a result of your investment, more kids in our community are ready to start school.
In addition to serving 4,594 kids, studies show that every dollar invested in early education yields a return of $7-11 in economic impact. That means your investment of $4.5 million over 10 years yielded a return of at least $31,323,026 in economic impact!
In our Financial Stability work over the past 10 years, our partners served both students and adults. Youth investments focused on giving students the tools they need to understand the big choices they will face with their money. Teaching financial literacy BEFORE students face life-changing decisions gives them a better chance to make choices that lead to long-term financial stability. Because of you, 9 out of 10 students reported an increase in their financial literacy.
Adult financial stability investment focuses on getting back on track financially, and 85% of adults took a substantial step toward paying down debt. That’s a BIG return on your investment!
