Merger Vote
United Way of Douglas County Board Chair Kurt Schueler, UWGT CEO Jessica Lehnherr, UWGT Board Chair Matt All
As we mentioned in the previous newsletter, United Way of Greater Topeka is in the last steps of finalizing a merger with United Way of Douglas County. All previous-year donors were sent a notice of an open meeting and vote to take place August 25.
The merger agreement was approved by unanimous vote of all members in attendance.
Barring any logistical complications, UWGT and United Way of Douglas County intend to file the merger paperwork with the Secretary of State's office this Fall. Fall workplace campaigns will continue under each organization's banner. The merged organization plans to rebrand under its new name, United Way of Kaw Valley, in early 2023.
