All over town, coworkers are coming together to eat chili, play golf, compete at dessert-making, and invest in their community. United Way's workplace campaign supports kindergarten readiness, on-grade achievement, financial stability, community health initiatives and emergency basic needs. Whether you give once to eat lunch, or enter a raffle, or contribute all year long through payroll deduction, your investment creates the funding for ongoing, long-lasting community change. Supporting all the initiatives currently in place, including Pine Ridge Prep Preschool, the Future Now: Finance high school simulation activity, the CARE employment program and a dozen others, will take an investment of $2.75 million. Expansion of programming will take even more. To learn more about the ways your money works for our community, read our most recent Report to the Community.
In the past, most campaigns ran between September and December. But more and more workplaces are finding that other times allow their employees to be more engaged and more excited about the campaign. So while December was once the "official" end of the campaign season, we now know that many businesses won't report contributions until well into the next calendar year. So if your company hasn't participated, there is still plenty of time to help!
