Welcome to our three new Community Resource Navigators. Hannah Swartz-Brown, Sandra Davalos Wainwright and Ashley Mason have joined us as part of our program expansion and are currently training to be certified as Community Health Workers and getting to know partners across their service areas. Hannah will serve primarily rural Douglas County, including Eudora, Lecompton and Baldwin City. Sandra will concentrate her time in the city of Lawrence itself, and Ashley will be serving Topeka and Shawnee County. Look for them to be out in the community soon!
If you work with an organization that might benefit from a connection with our Community Resource Navigators, or you would like to start a conversation about getting a Community Resource Navigator in your community, please contact our Director of Community Resource Navigation, Heather Coates.
Our Community Resource Navigation program expansion is supported by a Trailblazers grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. Navigators will help people access a complex system of social service programs and serve as a key point of contact and source of support for community members in crisis. Navigators will help improve communication between clients and agencies, facilitate the often-complicated application process for receiving services, and provide help in a way that honors every client’s culture and lived experience.
